After completing my studies in 2016, I returned to Boston to work full-time in a microbiology lab. Simultaneously, I upgraded my camera gear and started passionately shooting again. It acted as a kind of therapy for me and was very mentally beneficial. I started experimenting with studio lighting, color film development, and large-format photography, making me a more technical and creative photographer. I was doing fine art editorial and portrait work at this time, pushing the creative boundaries. My passion for photographing people progressed into shooting engagement photography and weddings. I love telling stories; there is no better story to tell than a love story.

My name is Jonathan Goldie, a fine-art wedding, engagement and editorial photographer from Boston. This is my personal story of my photography and how it has led me to where I am today. My first camera was my father's old Nikon 35mm film camera, which he gave me as a child. Every summer, I would attend a sleepaway camp with a darkroom for photography and this is my love for the art began. I was fascinated with the camera, taking pictures, and learning about light, composition, and storytelling.

A few other things about me. I have a cat! His name is Calvin. I'm a traveler, and my favorite thing is to go on new adventures worldwide. I love to snowboard in the winter and go backpacking in the summer, always with my camera in hand. I recently learned how to kiteboard, which has become my new obsession. Coffee, gym, and music keep me focused and I couldn't live without them. I am inspired by the beauty of people and the planet, and I am so lucky to be able to enjoy this adventurous life behind the lens.

Over the years, my passion for photography grew, and I took visual arts and photography classes in high school. I bought my first digital camera and taught myself everything I could about every aspect of photography. While studying for my nutrition and medical laboratory science degree at the University of Vermont, I continued taking photography classes, working towards a studio art minor. However, it took a lot of work to prioritize photography because I was passionate about many things.

NICE TO MEET YOU!

Let me introduce myself!

Holly and I

After completing my studies in 2016, I returned to Boston to work full-time in a microbiology lab. I live with my beautiful and talented girlfriend, Holly, who is my assistant and second shooter.  Simultaneously, I upgraded my camera gear and started shooting again. It acted as a kind of therapy for me and was very mentally beneficial. I started experimenting with studio lighting, color film development, and large-format photography, making me a more technical and creative photographer. I was doing fine art editorial and portrait work at this time, pushing the creative boundaries. My passion for photographing people progressed into shooting engagement photography and, more recently, weddings. I love telling stories; there is no better story to tell than a love story.

First, my name is Jonathan Goldie, a fine-art wedding, engagement and editorial photographer based in Boston, MA and available worldwide. This is my personal story of my photography and how it has led me to where I am today. My first camera was my father's old Nikon 35mm film camera, which he gave me as a child. Every summer, I would attend a sleepaway camp with a darkroom, where my love for photography began. I was fascinated with the camera, taking pictures, and learning about light, composition, and storytelling through photography.

A few other things about me. I have a cat! His name is Calvin. I'm a traveler, and my favorite thing is to go on new adventures. I love to snowboard in the winter and go backpacking in the summer, always bringing my camera. I recently learned how to kiteboard, which has become my new obsession of mine. Coffee and the gym are the other things that I can't live without, I always have to be active. I am inspired by the beauty of people and the planet, and I am so lucky to be able to capture it all!

I'm so excited you're here and I can't wait to meet you two!
